迎戰瓦倫西亞,別像上次輸得那麼慘......

PREVIEW: DEPORTIVO - VALENCIA (LA LIGA 22h00)

05 May 2007 -- Deportivo starts May trying to fulfil its European aspirations, Valencia visits Riazor with the intention of increasing its title options. Caparrós will maintain the 4-2-3-1 team that drew in Santander, with the novelties of Capdevila and Coloccini in the starting eleven, and with Pablo Álvarez covering the absence of Estoyanoff. Juan Rodríguez will continue to perform as playmaker. Meanwhile, Quique Flores is trusting in the trident Silva-Joaquín-Villa.

STATISTICS: VALENCIA HAS ZERO AWAY WINS DURING THE SECOND ROUND
Valencia arrives to Riazor dreaming with the title in la liga. They are six points away from the leader Barcelona, and they need to add the three points during the visit to La Coruña. But the problem for Quique Flores's squad its the away record, so far they have only conquered four wins outside of Mestalla, this four victories were achieved with a 1-0 score: Atlético Madrid, Zaragoza, Villarreal and Real Sociedad.

Valencia accumulated a positive mark of six consecutive victories at the end of the past year, a record that included a 4-0 win over Depor in Mestalla and a 1-0 victory over Villarreal at El Madrigal. But since then, the Valencian team hasn't been able to win any of the games played outside home.

This mean that they haven't won any away game during the second round in la liga. In their last six visits, they have been defeated in 4 opportunities (1-2 Vs. Betis, 0-3 Vs. Getafe, 0-1 Vs. Athletic Bilbao and 1-2 Vs. Real Madrid), while they only conquered two draws (1-1 Vs. Nástic and 1-1 Vs. Osasuna) plus two more for Champions League (2-2 Vs. Inter Milan and 1-1 Vs. Chelsea) . Their title options in la liga have been maintained with the home games, a fact since they have achieved six wins in their last seven matches in Mestalla.

Meanwhile, Deportivo is living a positive season at home. 31 of the 43 points achieved so far have been added in Riazor, an stadium in which the Galicians have only suffered three defeats: 0-1 Vs. Celta, 0-2 Vs. Athletic Bilbao and 0-1 Vs. Betis. In fact, Depor already faced in Riazor four of the first six teams in the table, and none of this teams have been able to defeat Caparrós's squad: 1-1 Vs. Barcelona, 2-0 Vs. Real Madrid, 1-0 Vs. Atlético Madrid and 3-2 Vs. Zaragoza. Valencia and Sevilla are the last two candidates to the title that will visit Riazor during this season.

Another positive fact for the Galicians is their defensive record at home, after sixteen matches in Riazor, Deportivo has just allowed seven goals. This is the second best mark in la liga, only improved by Getafe (6). It's also the best mark in the club since the season 1993/1994. At that time, Depor only allowed seven goals in nineteen games played at home.
DEPORTIVO: JUAN RODRIGUEZ AND PABLO ÁLVAREZ IN THE SQUAD
If Caparrós maintained the mystery during the week, all the doubts were cleared out during Friday's training. This occurred since the Sevillan coach tested with one clear lineup. The main novelties were the presence of Juan Rodríguez and Pablo Álvarez in the starting eleven. The main absence is Fabián Estoyanoff who is ineligible to play due to contract reason, while Verdú, Barragán and Cristian weren't called for the game.

Basically, the squad will be the same that drew with Racing at El Sardinero, this mean a 4-2-3-1 formation on the pitch. The duo Jorge Andrade-Albert Lopo will continue to cover the centre in defence, while both sides will see a change. Fabricio Coloccini is returning from a suspension and will cover the right back, while Joan Capdevila has surpassed his muscular problems and will replace Filpe on the left.

Midfield will see the repetition of the couple that performed against Racing: Aldo Duscher-Sergio. The absence of Estoyanoff on the right wing will be covered with Pablo Álvarez. The ex-Sporting player expressed on Thursday his lack of satisfaction with his current situation. The 'Shark' returned on January after he broke his leg when he was at Sporting, but since then he has just played four games in la liga, the last one was the defeat in the derby against Celta. Now, the Galician winger will enjoy of a new chance to demonstrate his capacity to Caparrós.

Maybe the biggest surprise for the game is the absence of Cristian on the list. It's the second occasion in which he has been left out, for this reason Riki will continue to perform on the left wing. As it happened against Racing, Juan Rodríguez will perform as playmaker, Caparrós is satisfied with his performance and for this reason the Andalucian will continue on that function.

Javier Arizmendi will be the striker in the formation. The Madrilian has been appointed as the next reinforcement for Valencia, exactly the rival that Deportivo is facing. This has created a lot of speculation about his possible performance on this game, but the same Arizmendi wanted to clear out the doubts about this situation: "I just want to talk about this game. If we add the three points, it will be worthy the point achieved in Santander. This is an important game for us, and we are aspiring to the European places."

Meanwhile, coach Joaquín Caparrós believes that his players are relieved after they achieved the salvation: "After the game that we won against Osasuna, there was a big joy in the dressing room, because we were conscious about the calendar that we had ahead, but game by game this team is able to defeat anybody. There still one month ahead of us, but we hope to be ending with a great joy for the fans."

Caparrós also talked about the keys for this game: "We must be highly concentrated, the squad has to maintain the same line of collectivity, to avoid an early goal, because to score a goal is something difficult for us, an early disadvantage could put us in a state of uncertainty. We have to mature during the game." The Sevillan trainer also defended the integrity of Arizmendi: "People has talked a lot about him, he is also followed by Atlético Madrid, but Arizmendi is a professional, he is concentrated in his team, in the blue and white colours, he only thinks of Deportivo, nothing more than Deportivo."

List of called players: Aouate, Munúa (goalkeepers); Manuel Pablo, Coloccini, Andrade, Lopo, Capdevila, Filipe (defenders); Duscher, De Guzmán, Sergio, Juan Rodríguez, Iago, Pablo Álvarez (midfielders); Taborda, Arizmendi, Riki and Adrián (strikers).
VALENCIA: MORIENTES WILL BE ON THE BENCH
Coach Quique Sánchez Flores has been suffering a lot of casualties during the whole season, and this time it isn't the exception. David Albelda (knee), Vicente (thigh), Rubén Baraja (thigh), Mario Regueiro (knee) and Edú (knee) will miss the trip to La Coruña for injury reasons. At least Fernando Morientes and Miguel have surpassed their muscular injuries and both players were included in the list, but only the Portuguese defender will be a starter on the game.

But the absence that's given headaches to Quique Flores is David Albelda, he has been an important piece during this season and his absence will cause a couple of movements in the starting eleven. Raúl Albiol will have to advance his position to midfield in order to cover the hole left by Albelda, while Moretti will enter to the formation covering the place of Albiol in defence. Santiago Cañizares will also return after he missed the win over Recreativo.

The key in the offensive game of Valencia is the trident: Silva-Joaquín-David Villa. David Silva came from Celta on the summer and his work has impressed everybody, even the coach of Spain, Luis Aragonés. The Canarian has scored 2 goals in 31 matches. The story of Joaquín has been more complicated, The Sevillan winger has been a disappointment during a big part of the tournament, but he has raised his level recently. Joaquín gave the assistance to the goal against Real Madrid, and scored the two goals in the victory against Recreativo. Meanwhile, David Villa has continued to impress with his effectiveness: 13 goals in 30 liga matches. Numbers that are even attracting offers from other clubs, like the one of Chelsea (€70 million).

Joaquín said yesterday that he is satisfied with his current performance in Valencia: "Time has put me in my place. The things have changed a lot and I knew that it was a matter of time, tranquility and to wait for the exact moment. I am living an excellent period and that explains the continuity that I have been enjoying lately, besides our team has been wining the latest matches."

Asier del Horno is one of the players that has had bad luck during this season, the ex-Chelsea defender has only played 5 liga matches due to different injuries, but now he will be a starter in Riazor, a game that he described as very important for his team: "The key for our title options are the away games, this matches will decide our aspirations since we have been really strong at home."
