A difference that will be bigger if the numbers of Xisco and Rubén Castro are also considered.
The 27 goals scored so far in la liga are the worst statistic for Depor during the last 35 years. That's a fact that has been widely commented, but the curiosity is that the B squad is showing the opposite scenario. Fabril ended its participation in group A of Tercera with 70 goals scored -the best mark in the group- a number that's almost the triple of the goals conquered by the first squad.
And the interesting fact is that the four strikes in Fabril are displaying their strength on the pitch, a fact that isn't occurring with the ones at the first squad. Aridane (14), José Arenas (13), Iván Pérez (13) and Rubén Rivera (12) represents the 74% of the goals conquered by Deportivo B and almost the double of the number achieved by the first squad. Of this four youngster, only Rubén Rivera has enjoyed the privilege of debuting with the first team in a official game, he even scored a goal in copa del rey against Valladolid.
Another interesting contribution is the one of Alejando Bergantiños 'Álex', this youngster plays as a defensive midfielder, he isn't used to score goals, but the good season of this Galician promise has been rewarded with six goals scored, a number that surpass the mark of Javier Arizmendi, the 'pichichi' of the first squad.
There are other players that can improve the current situation of the first squad. Rubén Castro was loaned out to Racing Santander, and later he ended in Gimnástic Tarragona, although he arrived until November to the Catalan club, he has been able to score four goals with the worst team in Primera. And the other good example should be Xisco, the Mallorca-born striker has scored 12 goals playing with Vecindario in Segunda. A fact that has called the attention of some Premiership clubs.
