25 Nov 2007 -- Deportivo rescued a point at Bilbao in a complicated game that was faced not only against Athletic, but also against illness. Because several players were suffering from gastrointestinal problems. The home team took a 2-0 advantage at the beginning of the second half, but the reaction of Depor came with Riki and with a last-minute goal of Taborda. Despite all, Depor still struggling in order to avoid the relegation zone.
BEFORE THE GAME
Lotina surprised with the introduction of Juan Rodríguez covering the right wing, a defensive move that was to trying to hold back the efforts of the Basques. In Athletic, all the offensive game was left to Yeste, while Fernando Llorente surprisingly started up front leaving Aduriz on the bench.
An unknown fact for everybody was that several Depor's players started the game with gastrointestinal problems, apparently a virus derived from the food ingested the night before. Xisco had to be replaced at the end of the first half, while Manuel Pablo had to leave the pitch at the middle of the first half in order to go to the bathroom. However the Galicians didn't create clear chances to score, they just spent the time trying to send crosses to the area, but without any danger. Deportivo started the second part with the intention of reaching the equaliser as soon as it was possible, Bodipo had the first chance after the Guinean striker quickly stole a ball with the head, but keeper Aranzubia was there to contain the ball. The next game will be at Riazor against Osasuna (Sunday 17h00), precisely the team that occupies the 17th position, a match that should serve to any of this two sides in order to climb positions.
