25 Oct 2007 -- Fabricio Coloccini talked with newspaper La Voz de Galicia, the Argentinean confessed that he's happy at Deportivo and that he's feeling more comfortable with the new philosophy imposed by Lotina. He also talked about the confrontation against Real Madrid.
Q: Do you feel more comfortable with the speech of Lotina?
A: I enjoy more. I enter to the pitch and I'm content. I'm having a good time. This wasn't happening before. But this doesn't mean that it was worst nor better, because everybody has its own style of playing.
Q: But better is to win the matches.
A: It's necessary to win, that's for sure, but if we play in the same line than against Espanyol and Sevilla... sometimes the things go wrong or you play against superior teams, and it's necessary to understand that.
Q: Are you optimistic for the game at the Bernabeú?
A: It's very complicated, but we have to play. Let's hope we'll wake up strongly and that we'll make an excellent game.
Q: Is this squad too soft?
A: We aren't an stable team. We have been very irregular. We have to try to refine it. Not to be playing a very good game just to play the following one badly. To have a high note in each match.
Q: Is this fixable with new signings?
A: You never know. With this predisposition, we are able to carry out with this thing. There's no problem.
Q: How do you valorise the fact of staying at Deportivo?
A: I'm content, let's hope to end the season well and later we will see what happens. I wish to stay here for a long time, and I don't care the weight of the team will be on me.
Q: Do you think that you stayed in order to live difficult times?
A: I stayed in order to do the right things. If I do that, later we'll see what happens. And about suffering, we always suffer, but I trust in the quality of this group.
Q: After Real Madrid, it's time to face Murcia, Mallorca, Racing, Athletic... is that the league of this Depor?
A: More than all, we have to win the matches with teams that are fighting in mid-table or for the permanence, later against the giant clubs... well, it's clear that we always want to win, but a defeat is the most logical result.
Q: How will you harm Real Madrid?
A: We must be focused, we can't allow any failure. They possess individualities that are able to define a game. At the Bernabeú and against Real Madrid, sometimes you can't play hand-to-hand.
Q: You will play against Saviola, Higuaín and Gago.
A: The Argentineans are content. But Real Madrid is a complicate club, people is always over you. If you win today, everything is fine, but tomorrow everything can change. I don't doubt that the three of them will succeed
Q: Saviola seems to be living a second youth, after what he lived at Barcelona.
A: But he always accomplished the mission when he played. They never gave him a chance, but he was responding. Rijkaard even had to count with him after he was sidelined at a first moment.
Q: Now he looks different.
A: He enters and he scores a few minutes later. He lives from the goals and he's always there. He never misses a chance, no matter the time he spends on the pitch.
Q: Is more difficult to stop Higuaín?
A: You can't compare them. Saviola posses more experience in European football, and he's among the best strikers in Europe, that's without doubt and he has demonstrate it. He's a player with an unblemished behaviour, he always accomplish the things and he never complains.
Q: And Higuaín?
A: He still starting and he still has to learn a lot. He's too young. Saviola yields better.
Q: And what about Gago?
A: His situation is complicated. The pressure of been at (Real) Madrid is normal. They are also building a project with youngsters, for the future. It's normal to see his club trusting in them. He didn't made his best effort and there's a lot of things to do.
Q: You say that Deportivo and Real Madrid are living a project for the future, is this one of the lies in football?
A: I don't think so. Its' different. (Real) Madrid doesn't need money, they can afford anything. For us, we have to make a project for the future because there's no money to buy experienced players. We are searching for young people that will inject money to the club during the future.
Q: And 'Piscu' is performing alongside you.
A: Lopo is fundamental in the squad, for his experience and for his hierarchy. But Adrián is doing a nice job. He is a pleasant surprise. A player made at home and he will pop up.
